Living with Art

Today, much like any other day, finds me immersed in a gentle stream of thoughts. Art holds a special place in my heart; there's a profound joy in crafting with my hands, shaping tangible creations that resonate with the senses—things you can hold, see, touch, and feel. Recently, I stumbled upon a David Choe YouTube video, where his artistry captivated me. His method, using pastels and paints, embodies a realm where there's no strict right or wrong, inviting one to lose themselves in the creative flow. Watching him work reignited a dormant spark within me, urging me to revisit painting.

Yet, amidst these musings, I realized my affinity lies in crafting pieces that linger with you, that become intertwined with your daily existence. Candles, for instance, find a place in the different corners of your home, casting their gentle glow to uplift the atmosphere. Music, a constant companion, accompanies us through the ebb and flow of life. Art, too, adorns our living spaces, encompassing myriad forms and expressions.

Curiously, despite my inclination towards creating pieces that resonate with people's lives, I find solace in solitude. It's not that I shun interaction,I cherish it, but rather, I find myself drawn to introverted tendencies. Through my creations, however, I find a subtle avenue to bridge the gap, to "live with people" in a way that feels comfortable.

And therein lies the crux of my contemplation—just as we coexist with music, candles, and art, so too should we dwell in the presence of Jesus. He permeates the melodies, the creative impulses, the very essence of communication. Each of us are created in the image of God “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). In embracing this truth, we invite His presence to infuse every aspect of our lives, enriching our existence with grace and beauty.
